Helene Train 1946 - 2025
Specialising in oils she had the incredible gift of being able to paint in many different styles from abstracts to portraits. In 2003 she won the National Portrait Competition with her painting of Zulu King Cetshwayo. She has painted 3 Nobel Prize winners and her art can be found in homes throughout the world.
When she was not teaching she was painting, be it on new commissions or just for the pure joy of it. Her greatest moment was when she was invited to personally deliver a portrait of Nelson Mandela to the great man himself.
